Diary of a Monster- Oct. 19, 2011

Now I was sitting on my desk at school, looking out the window, bored once again. The teacher was talking about advanced Calculus; joy. Something I already knew.

He called me up to the front because it didn't seem like I was paying attention, which was right, in part. I did the problem he assigned quickly, and went back to my seat, ignoring the giggling and winking girls in the corner. Then the bell rang, I went outside to my locker, only to find my brother leaning against it. "..Off."

"Man, I hate my classes" He sighed, pushing himself off my locker. "Not as much as I do, I'm sure. I already know everything they talk about, so it's quite boring" I said as I put my books in place, noticing my eyes had turned to copper. "Someone's warm."

"I will never understand this weather. Today is warm, but yesterday was cold?" I muttered. "Global Warming~" Tsunaro sang. "One more reason this world is going down."

"Yeah...So...Have you found an angel yet, big bro?" He asked me. "Not yet. No human I look at is as pure as an angel" I said as we appeared at our house. Then I took the key of the car that was parked in the garage out of my pocket.

"Where are you going?" He asked me. "To get some air" I answered him. "Mind giving me a ride?"

"Where to?" I asked, looking up at him. "I'm going to the cool bar that's closely out of town. You're going around that route, right? Well, could you drop me off on your way to the forest?" Tsunaro asked me. "How do you know I'm going to the forest?"

"I'm your brother. You always go to the forest when you're in this mood" Tsunaro said. "What mood?" I asked. "The deep-thinking mood. Let's just go, they'll close the place on us!"

He pulled me to the car, tossing the keys at me. "You know you've been able to drive since four years ago, right?" I asked, looking up at him. "And you've been able to drive since seven years ago! C'mon, big bro, don't be a party-pooper!"

I sighed, turning the car on as Tsunaro came in. "I'm still saying we could have gotten a Ferrari..." He complained. "And I'm still saying you'll go to school on bus if you don't shut up."

Kiyane and Myralein walked into the garage. "And where do you think you're going...?" Kiyane asked. "I'm going to the forest and he's going to the bar."

"Nice going, bro" Tsunaro hissed, annoyed. "I'm not good at lying" I lied, shrugging. "A bar? Shouldn't you wait at least one more year for that, Tsunaro?"

"Aw, c'mon. What do I look like, a human? Besides, there's always pretty darn hot girls to have sex with and then to feed on!" Tsunaro said, thrilled. "Gee, you're so discrete about it" Myralein said, scowling at him. "Oh, did I say that aloud? Shit!"

"Watch your language, Tsunaro" Myralein warned. "Hey, I'm not ten years old anymore!" Tsunaro said. "Can we go already?"

"Yeah, yeah!" Tsunaro said. "Don't eat any more souls, Tsunaro. You've had enough for today" Kiyane said. "And Takeru."

"Yes, Myralein?" I asked, looking at her. "Drive safe, okay?" She asked me, smiling a little. I kept looking at her, then nodded, smiling a little as well.

"Don't worry about it, Myralein. I'm a devil. I'm not easily killed" I said, starting the car once again. Then we left. Tsunaro was playing around with the AC and the heater, laughing.

"Tsunaro. Knock it off, you'll break the stupid thing" I said. "Sorry, bro, I just like your color-changing eyes and hair. Cold; gray. Hot; copper. Warm; bright-brown. Super cold; pale blue. Super hot; blazed amber" Tsunaro said, changing the temperature, looking at me. "Grrn, knock it off!"

I turned the heater off, and my hair and eyes turned black. "Woow. No specific temperature; black" Tsunaro whispered. "Will you cut it out already?!"

"Cloudy; dark gray. Windy; light gray. Rainy; dark-brown. Sunny; blond and yellow. Close to monster form; red. You're amazing, Takeru! I haven't met anyone with the ability to dye their hair and their eyes so easily with just the changing weather and temperature" Tsunaro said. "Yes, yes, I'm really incredible. Now, how about we stop talking about the annoying ability I can't even control?" I asked. "Man. Wish I had it...So cool..."

"Let's talk about something else, shall we? School things, for example" I said, he pursed his lips. "I hate it. Because those girls don't know what I am, they keep flirting with me!" Tsunaro complained. "Not the kind of school thing I was talking about, but, guess it'll do. That's very interesting, but predictable."

"You and your sarcasm. C'mon, don't play dumb with me, bro" Tsunaro said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I know there are lots of fangirls drooling for you. At least five juniors, six seniors in your class that have crushes on you, plus three or four sophomores in my class, and, oh, most of the freshman class."

"Freshmen? Are you serious? I was only aware of the seniors" I muttered. "That's because you don't talk to the other grades, you barely talk to anyone at all. That makes it about twenty-six girls that have fallen for you" Tsunaro said, making a slightly disgusted face. "Twenty six humans that have fallen for a devil. That is so absurd..."

"And how do you feel about them?" Tsunaro asked, I shrugged. "I don't feel any connection to any of them, I hardly know them. I despise them all" I said. "Ooh, that's cold. Join the club of heart-breakers. I hate all those girls, though they do have their good stuff, especially if you're short on time to do your ridiculous homework, or if you just need some fun...But, there, this one..."

"Oh? I thought you said you hated them?" I teased quietly. "She's not human, okay?! She's a vampire" Tsunaro said. "A vampire? Now, that's interesting."

"Cut the sarcasm, will you? Her name is Mako, and before you ask, she comes from the Ketsueki Vampire Clan" Tsunaro said. "Ketsueki...Ah, yes. Father was an acquaintance of that clan. They helped him in many business he had involving large amounts of human blood. She's the youngest in the rank, right?" I asked without looking away from the road. "Yeah."

"I suppose she's better than her younger sister, Minako" I said. "Hell, yeah! Wait a minute, how do you know Minako anyway?" Tsunaro asked. "She's Myralein's friend. They know each other since they were in junior high."

"Hell, you're shitting me!" He said. "I am not. Every once in a while they go out at night and have fun" I said. "At night? How come she's never bitten her? After all, Myralein's half-human."

"They...Appreciate, each other, I guess you could say. A human enough friendship. Myralein is half-devil too. That's something allows them to get along, and not see each other as food, and predator. Besides, vampires would never dare to mess with our family" I said. "Myralein's not our family" Tsunaro said. "She's half our family. Our half-sister."

"Shit, you have no idea how much I wish I could take her to the bed sometimes..." Tsunaro said. "Really?" I asked, glancing at him. "Hell, yeah. Have you ever seen her freakin' hot body? I'm telling you, that's sizzling."

"Not really, I'd just rather concentrate on something more productive, my brother. I like Myralein better with her underwear and clothes on" I said. "Oh, yeah. Your so-called, boring plans. By the way, have you spotted any angel you like yet?" Tsunaro asked. "Not really, again. But just you wait, I will find one, don't worry."

"Oh, I'm not worried about that. However, there is something that does creep me out every so often" He said. I sighed. "And that is?"

"You, bro. You're so determined to finish your plans, even if it takes your own life, aren't you?" He asked, looking at me. "That is correct" I answered. "You can't live your life like that. You need to learn to appreciate it better. Haven't you met anyone who can, you know, help?"

I shrugged, uninterested. "Not at all. You shouldn't really give women so much credit, don't over-estimate them. I'm not as simple and worthless as those humans, Tsunaro. Useless creatures such as the ones that surround us will never please my desires, and will never make me happy in any way" I said sternly. "What about someone like us?"

"(Sigh) I'm already sick of those kinds of women" I said monotonously. "You're annoyingly picky when it comes to women, bro, did you know that? Pickier even than other things, that's a new one" Tsunaro said. I sighed, rolling my eyes to look out my window, "maybe because I don't want women at all."

"...Man, are you boring" Tsunaro said. I looked up. "Yep, that's me. This world is so ugly...So foul..."

"(Chuckle) Says who? He who wants to make it even uglier and fouler?" Tsunaro asked. "Exactly" I answered. "It's not like us to want to contaminate this world, yet reflect about how contaminated it already is, not in our blood...You are weird, my brother."

"I only think about what the rest of my kind would never be able to put a thought to" I said. Tsunaro nodded. "Think about this, Tsunaro. Will my plans really be as easy to fulfill as that? Won't there be a salvation to stop them at all? Just as simple as getting them done? If there will be, what will change? I'm curious. Will a defender eventually stand up for this disgusting world? Because it is nothing the word 'beautiful' could be applied on."

"Um....Um, um, um...Um, there's...Uh...Why, in the name of Hell, do you ask freakin' confusing questions?!" Tsunaro asked. I sighed. "Of course you don't understand a thing. Huh?"

I noticed something glowed in the sky; a star? It did look like it, but it certainly shone brighter than one. Besides, it had only been a couple of minutes since the sun had started to set; there was no way stars appeared during that time.

"What was that supposed to mean?!" Tsunaro asked, annoyed, as I saw the glowing dot approach faster. "Hey, Tsunaro, look at that" I said. "Look at what?!"

The dot was now practically beside us; it was an enormous blast of white light. "At that!" I said, pointing at it. "What the f--What is that?!"

"I don't know! But it's going straight ahead, not to us" I said. "Holy--Look out!" Tsunaro yelled as the light swerved in front of us toward the forest. I was able to stop in time.

We then got out of the car, and watched as the beam of light crashed into the forest. "...Holy crap. What the heck was that?!" Tsunaro asked. "I have no idea."

"Wanna go check it out?" He asked me. I kept staring at the place, and then nodded. We got closer with the car, but then had to go on foot beyond some point because the ground had turned too irregular.

"It was probably a human unicorn" I said. "Sweet. When we find it, can I eat it?" Tsunaro asked. "No. Human unicorns are pets of the angels. If it is a unicorn, then it means an angel must be nearby. We can't be so careless, Tsunaro, we need the angel."

"Right..." He said. We stopped in front of a glowing tree. "Whoa...Um. This is weird."

I looked up, then at the tree. "Hm. A Star Tree" I muttered. "A what?"

"A tree composed of star energy. There aren't many around these parts, considering that this tree is pretty divine to be located in mortal lands..." I said, looking around at the tree. "How can that be?! Seriously, this thing is starting to get extremely weird!" Tsunaro said. What does it mean...?

Suddenly, a young girl appeared in the center of the tree, from the light it produced. Her skin was white; her somewhat short hair a pearl cream. I couldn't see her eyes; they were closed; she was in a fetal position.

"It's a girl" Tsunaro said. "...Suta-" I whispered. "Huh? What did you just say?"

"Huh? What do you mean? I didn't say anything" I said. "How do you know that girl's name?" He asked me. "I don't."

The girl opened her beaming, gentle, lilac eyes. "I am...Suta-" The whisper came from nowhere; I just heard it as clear as if she had said it. Then she started to get out of the tree.

I walked to her, stretching my arms up at her. She took my hands gently, and then fell into my arms softly. It was there when I realized she wasn't wearing any clothes.

Tsunaro caught up with me. "Yep. It's a girl, alright" He said. I froze in place, blushing lightly.

"...And, she's naked" He finished. "That, I did not do it" I clarified. "Oh, she's a kid? That sucks."

"I told you you wouldn't kill her anyway" I told him. "You don't necessarily need to kill after you rape, bro" Tsunaro said. "...Is that really the only thing you can think about?"

"Pretty much. Yeah" Tsunaro answered, and I sighed. "You're hopeless" I told him. "Thank ya!"

"So, what is your name?" I asked the girl, ignoring Tsunaro. "Uh...I..." She said, looking up at me; seeming a little confused. "Don't you know her name?"

"I already told you, I don't!" I screamed at him. "But you called her 'Suta-.' Isn't that her name?" He asked me. "I don't know, is it?"

I turned to look at her when I asked this; she smiled, giggled, and hugged me. "Hey! Get off, you little pest!" I said, pulling her off, slightly blushed. "...Clingy girl."

I gasped, feeling a strong aura. Then I looked up, glaring forward. "What is it?"

"Don't you feel it, Tsunaro? This aura?" I asked, standing up. "Yeah...One of us is coming" Tsunaro said. I narrowed my eyes.

"It doesn't need to be one of us" I said, on guard. "What's up?" Tsunaro asked me, starting to get concerned. "The oncoming demon is an enemy."

"Enemy? What are you--Whoa!" He screamed as we were blown away by an explosion. I held Suta- firmly and fell on my back; she screamed. "Nh, that thing!"

"It's a demon!" Tsunaro said as I grunted, standing up. "No. Really? Did you just figure that on your own?" I asked sarcastically. "I'm not as bright as you are, you know!"

The demon roared, running toward us. "Look out!" I said, jumping out of the demon's reach. "We have to take it out!"

"I'm thinking! Remember it's a demon, so our powers won't affect it much!" I said. "What the hell does it want?!" Tsunaro screamed. "Isn't it obvious?! It wants to devour her!"

I deflected the demon's attack, running. Suta- held tighter to me. I have to get her to safety!

The demon was catching up to us. ""Damn!" I said. "Takeru, get out of the way!"

It was Tsunaro. He was flying to the demon with incredible speed, creating a blast of dark energy in his hands. "C'mon!"

I nodded quickly, and jumped away, holding Suta-. "Hey, big guy! Got a present for ya!" Tsunaro said and shot the energy at the demon. It caused an explosion that probably shook the entire forest.

He yelled, falling on the ground. "Tsunaro! Are you okay?" I asked, running to him. "Haven't, been better."

I looked around at the disaster he had caused. "Are you insane or what?!" I screamed at him. "I'm alright, I already told you, you don't have to wor--"

"I don't mean that! I meant the forest! You caused a whole racket here!" I screamed. "...That's what worries you?" He asked me. "Well, yeah. What else?"

I looked at Suta- and put my jacket on her. "Here, wear this. It'd be kind of awkward if you went around naked" I said. "Says the guy who grabbed her around, carrying her here and there?"

"I did so because I had no other choice!" I said. "Yeah, right. So you're having your little fun with the unicorn?" He asked; I punched him.

She was playing around with the zipper of my jacket. The color of my eyes and hair changed to gray. "Now there, you better keep that zipped, Suta-. It's getting cold already."

I got her on my back. "Aren't you being a little nice?" Tsunaro teased, smirking. "Will you shut up?! We need to be careful with her."

I turned to Suta-. "I'm Takeru. Takeru Sakane. Now, don't you worry about a thing, kid. I will protect you no matter what. I promise" I said, slightly blushed. She nodded a little.

"She's shaking. Hey, calm down, okay? Everything's gonna be fine now" I told her. The ground began to shake.

"What now...?" I asked, annoyed. "Bad news, Bro. The demon's back!" Tsunaro said. I turned back, glaring at the demon.

The demon ran at us really fast. Then it shot hard and thick chains at us. I jumped out of the way quickly.

Tsunaro ran to it, but this time it hit him away. "Tsunaro!" I screamed, jumping back, growling as I glared at the filthy demon. But it smashed me against a tree so hard, before I could see anything coming.

"T-Takeru!" Suta- said, looking at me. I trembled in pain, looking up at her. The demon roared.

"S-Suta-" I whispered. "Takeru...?" She said. "M-My body's not doing what I'm asking it to...Run..."

She shook her head. "No...!" "Run...Hurry..."

"No, Suta- no leave Takeru!" She said, wrapping her arms around my neck as I groaned, sitting up as I could. I put my head down, trying to move more, but being unable to. The demon wrapped its thick, hard chains around her, pulling her closer to it.

She yelled. "Suta-!" I screamed. "Takeru!!"

I tried to stand up, but it was far too painful. "Takeru, get up!" Tsunaro said, helping me up. "Tsunaro...Go...Help...Suta-..."

"No way! First I get you outta here, she's not worth it!" Tsunaro said, holding me. She yelled again, about to be devoured by the demon. I pushed Tsunaro out of my way, and ran as fast as I could towards the demon, ignoring my burning pain.

"Takeru!" Tsunaro screamed. I raised my hand, causing the demon's arm to burst off. She yelled, falling once she was released.

"Suta-, I got you!" I said, running to her. I jumped high, catching her. "Suta-, are you okay?"

She nodded, gasping and clinging closer to me when the demon came again. I pushed her behind me, creating a wave of dark pulse that pushed the demon back. I grunted, falling on my knees, panting.

"Takeru!" She said, kneeling beside me. Damn. I promised I'd protect her...! I thought as I winced from the intense pain. I saw the demon glaring at me, and stood up.

I deflected its fire balls easily, shooting dark energy at it. But then it wrapped me in its chains, tossing me into the air. "Takeru!"

I opened my eyes, and saw it coming. Then it tackled me to the ground, making me hit it twice as hard as I was gonna hit it. "Takeru!!"

The demon came closer, and closer. But I could hardly see a thing. Damn.

So much for a protector, I thought, chuckling as I grew weaker and weaker. But then...When Suta- yelled my name...

I felt different; stronger. I opened my eyes; they were red now, glowing brighter than ever. I smirked wickedly, and as I stood up, I laughed coldly.

"I love destroying filthy demons like you..." I hissed, still smirking. "Takeru...?" Suta- said. I never thought he'd get so close to his true form...That demon's as good as over already...

He took Suta-. "No! Me no want leave Takeru!" She said, trying to get free from him. "He'll be fine now! Don't be stupid, he's doing this to protect you! He'll survive this, trust me!"

I raised my hands, creating a red blast of hell fire, chuckling. Then I shot it, running swiftly to the demon, slashing it to pieces before my blast hit. Then I landed on the ground once it was over.

What's wrong with me? I've never has this kind of power. My true form...? I thought as I changed back, groaning slightly. I hardly noticed when the ground crumbled down beneath me, and when I was falling down to the lake. I was too exhausted to notice.

I was also thinking about what would happen to Suta-, to Tsunaro, and what would be of my plans. I believe I sunk into darkness after that thought. Nothing but utter darkness.

Oct. 18, 2011

I hate this place. It's always been so cold, then warm, then cold again, then rainy, then windy, then hot, and so on. One of the many crazy things I despise about the human world is its weather.

Why is that? Well, my human appearance changes along with the weather, so it critically affects my techniques to lure humans closer, because my appearance keeps changing with the slightest breeze.

I don’t lure humans for myself, but for my family. Even though humans are the most stupid creatures you could ever come across with, they are somewhat clever to recognize appearances. You could say they are as observant as they are brainless, which is as much as I am a dark creature, which in other words, even if it doesn’t look like it is as 100% true as this world is 100% full of ineptness, negligence, and greed.

And I'm correct about the greed. I mean, sometimes my people has been stupid enough to reveal their identity to the human they are going to feed on. They tell the human that they’ll give it whatever his or her heart desires, with no tricks or conditions, as long as they surrender their soul in return; a fair deal.

Humans never did fully acknowledge just how significant their souls are to us, so they accept with no second thought or hesitation. After what they believe is a painful, surreal nightmare, they find before them everything they gave up their soul for. But, without a soul, humans don’t feel anything at all, be it material or their so-called things their money cannot buy; a soul, for example.

They can’t even develop their human needs, such as hunger, thirst, sanitary necessities, etc. They end up as fleshed-up piles of emotionless garbage. That's how they end up after my kind feeds from their souls. When they are desouled, humans become so easy to manipulate, since they are unable to tell right from wrong, dangerous from safe. Most of the time, my kind orders them to commit suicide so that their bodies will disappear and cause no more suspicions, and they actually do kill themselves with no hesitation.

Sadly, I cannot do this. (I can manipulate them easily, though)

I was walking by the street like usual, my hair and eyes now dark gray due to the cold, cloudy weather. I suppose it wasn't so bad. I was wearing my dark, long winter coat with my black pants, and even though the coat was the correct thing to wear in this weather, it still drew looks from humans. It probably wasn't the coat. No, not at all.

Even though I wasn't able to transform into my true, monster form, I still released the aura that only creatures of my kind could create. An aura that forces humans to approach us and socialize innocently and ingeniously with us, turning into our victims more easily.

I hated walking around this area. It was a shopping center. I was naturally drawn away from these kinds of places, like two magnets that repel each other and can only be drawn together by force. However, it was my sister's favorite feeding place. I suppose it is logical. After all, it is true that there were hundreds and hundreds of people; hundreds of souls.

The bus approached the stop where I was standing, so I got on with a sigh.

Just like I expected, my presence was immediately acknowledged, drawing the humans' looks. I barely noticed them, walking straight to a seat at the back of the bus. Once I sat down, I looked out the window, bored.

The constant stare of the girl behind me eventually annoyed me enough to acknowledge her. I turned around. "What are you staring at?"

“I don’t know, you’re just weird” The little girl said; she didn’t look any older than seven.

“Oh, you wanna see just how weird I am?” I asked her as my eyes turned to copper. Damn, the stupid bus driver had turned the heater on.

“Wow! Your eyes changed their color!” The girl said, amazed.

I sighed, annoyed. “Ever heard of contacts…?”

“Min, please, don’t bother the gentleman, that’s very rude. I’m sorry” The girl’s mother said, turning to me.

I looked away. “Doesn’t matter. It’s okay; after all, she’s still just an innocent child. She’s actually very sweet, miss. You’re really lucky to have a little girl like her.”

“Well, thank you, sir.”

Among the many things that I hated, faking so much kindness was one of them.

I looked down; decided not to talk to her anymore, considering creating a death for her, since no one would ever realize…But then I gasped a little, feeling something.

Her soul was sweet. The kind of souls my sister enjoyed to eat. I assumed some dessert wouldn’t do her bad.

“Excuse me. Ma’am?” I asked without looking at her.

“Yes?”

“Could I, know what your name is, please?”

“Oh. Sure, it’s Suiko Kitachi” She said.

I smiled, writing the name on a piece of paper. “A very nice name, that is. Do you have any occupation? A job, perhaps?”

“I’m a secretary.”

“Oh, that’s interesting.” I noted her physical description on the paper; writing her information would make luring her so much easier. “Could I know your date of birth?”

“Excuse me?”

Yes, it was probably risky to use my powers in front of so many witnesses. After all, when she died they would ask for the people that talked to her during the last days of her life, and they would get to me. Or…Would they?

When I thought about it, I realized it wasn’t such a big deal. I was a devil, after all. I was able to do what I pleased; things humans could have never imagined.

“Oh, please forgive my manners, I have not introduced myself yet,” I said turning to her, my eyes finding hers.
She gasped.

“My name is Takeru Sakane. I’m a reporter. I was assigned to interview some of the citizens around this area, and I’d like to know if you’d like to participate.”

“Of course. I’d be glad to help out.”

I smiled in a warm, innocent way. “Wow, Mrs. Kitachi, you’re very brave. I never expected someone to be willing to be interviewed so easily.”

“As long as it helps gentlemen like you” She said.

I nodded and looked out the window. “Oh. This is the place I have to go. Mind coming along?”

“Not at all, I love coming to these places.”

We got off, walking through stores. The girl looked around and asked her mother to buy her things, the way all children did, but she didn’t listen. We kept walking.

“Um, excuse me…Pardon me, Takeru, but where exactly are we going?” Suiko asked me.

“Oh. We’re only wandering about, I need to make some notations of this place” I answered with a kind tone of voice.

“I see. I like these kinds of places; they’re so full of familiar environment.”

Hmph. So naïve. “Yes, they certainly are. When I was a kid, I loved coming to the candy and comics stores all the time.”

“Really? That’s so sweet. I suppose you remember those kinds of things every time you come here.”

“In fact, I do. I’m actually glad my boss assigned me such a big center.”

We turned a corner and stopped behind a store that was out of business.

“That’s strange. I didn’t know they had apartments that were out of business here,” Suiko said, looking at the place.

I smirked wickedly as I told her the story; “oh, they do. I’ve been in this case for a while now. The owners and workers of the business all began to behave strange all of a sudden, and within a week later, they all died. What’s curious is that the deaths followed each other for a matter of hours, minutes, even seconds.”

“My god, that’s so terrible! Who could have done such a horrible thing? And how…?”

My eyes glinted bright red for a second, as my smirk grew darker; however, when I turned to face her once again, I was simply looking at her innocently, with only a small, harmless smile. “That might be something we will never know, Mrs. Kitachi.”

“You’re right…But, what are we here for? In such a scary place?” Suiko asked as Min slid behind her.

“Oh. I’m just reviewing my notes. We should be nearly done by now” I said, glancing at the scrap of paper I had been holding in my pocket.

Suiko blinked. “Nearly done…?”

A young woman silently stepped out of the shadows, walking closer to us.

I looked at her a little anxiously.

Suiko looked at her too. “Takeru…?”

Min stepped closer to Suiko.

The woman appeared, looking at me with her typical, dull gaze. She looked somewhat similar to me. As a matter of fact, she was my five-year older sister.

“About time you appeared, Kiyane. I was about to leave for good,” I said, smiling.

“No, you weren’t. I was a little busy.”

“With what, may I ask?” I asked.

“Tsunaro was annoying me. He wanted to come. I couldn’t trick him into staying, you know he’s too smart to buy it when it comes to eating” Kiyane said.

“HIYA, BIG BRO!” My two-year younger brother yelled, charging at me.

“…Tsunaro.” I muttered as I avoided him.

“Um, Takeru, do you know these two?” Suiko asked looking at Kiyane and Tsunaro.

“Well, of course I know them. They’re my siblings,”

“Your siblings? Are they reporters too?”

“Reporters? Is that really what you used to lure her, bro?” Tsunaro asked.

“It’s not like I had another option. She should be a good dessert, Kiyane, her soul smells sweet.”

“What are you talking about, Takeru?”

“Awesome, I’m starving here!” Tsunaro said, walking towards Suiko.

I stopped him, putting my arm in front of him. “Didn’t you hear me? I said she’s a present for Kiyane. And plus, she’s dessert.”

“C’mon, bro. Why didn’t you bring something for me too?”

“’Cause I had no idea you were coming, that’s why.”

“Well, little brother. Sad to break it to you, but it seems you’ll have to lure twice as many souls as before.”

“…You’re not serious. Do you have any idea how hard it is to lure a soul I’ve never seen before from a long distance? Leave alone hundreds of them. Besides, why don’t you do it yourselves? You have that monster form, what’s stopping you?” I asked, folding my arms, annoyed.

“Because you’re even better in this than we are, bro!” Tsunaro said, clinging to me.

I pushed him down.

“If anyone can lure so many souls without being suspected one bit, that’s you, Takeru” Kiyane said, folding her arms, looking at me dully.

I kept looking at her, and then I sighed, resigned. “What do you want?”

“I want fifty young male souls, thirteen average adult males’, five female children’s, and eleven teenagers’” Kiyane said.

“And I want two-hundred, twenty-seven young female souls, sixty-seven males’, eighty infants’, twenty children’s, and eleven teenagers’ as well!” Tsunaro said.

“Seventy-nine from Kiyane, plus four-hundred, five from Tsunaro, that makes it…Four-hundred, eighty-four souls?! What are you guys thinking?!”

“What? We’re hungry!” Tsunaro said.

“Why do you always eat so much, anyway?” I asked them, annoyed.

“Hey, don’t look at me; I don’t eat as much as he does” Kiyane muttered.

“C’mon, bro, hurry it up!”

“Alright, alright! Just shut up already” I said and closed my eyes. When I opened them, the irises were bright red, as well as my hair, and the marks that appeared on my face glowed.

That was as close as I could get to my monster form for the moment. I started to release waves of attracting aura, spreading them throughout the whole center. “Four-hundred…Eighty-four souls…Four-hundred, eighty-four human souls…” I whispered this in my demonic voice, summoning the souls I wanted.

“T-Takeru, what are you?!” Suiko yelled, horrified.

I crooked my mouth into a soulless smirk, and then glared back at her with my bright red, dark eyes. You…Will DIE, I thought.

She gasped, stepping back with terror as Kiyane walked to her slowly, smiling a tiny little.

I decided to look straight ahead as my sister dove on Suiko and began to devour her soul.

The people began to approach the place where we were. The four hundred, eighty-four humans I had requested.

“Well, that was quick. Hey, you two. Lunch just got here.”

“Ah, great, feeding time!” Tsunaro said, excited as Kiyane wiped her mouth slowly, her eyes starting to turn dark red, the same demonic marks appearing in her face.

“I ate the dessert first, Takeru” She said, walking closer to me.

“Doesn’t matter.”

“C’mon, sis, I’m starving!” Tsunaro said as the people stopped before them.

I rolled my eyes, and turned around. “Bon appetite.

All the people yelled, trying to run away when Kiyane and Tsunaro finally revealed what they really were, and started to hunt them down, one by one. But it was useless to try. We were devils, so it was impossible for mere, powerless humans to outrun us.

I stopped, seeing Min shaking behind a cardboard box, whimpering. Smiled coldly, walking slowly to the box. It was impossible for humans to outrun us.

Or hide from us.

“Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You’re scared, aren’t you, little girl? Yes. I can smell your fear. I can feel your terror. I can almost taste it” I whispered as I approached her refuge.

She whimpered more, trying to get away.

I chuckled, making her shiver. Then I pushed the box away, and she screamed, looking at me in utter horror, screaming for Suiko. “Oh, don’t worry, my dear girl. You will see your mother shortly. Very shortly.

I snapped my fingers, and the girl moaned, falling on the floor, dying as I pleasantly heard the last feeble beats of her heart. I had stopped her heart from beating.

After about twenty minutes, my siblings and I were walking through the street as if nothing had happened in the back of that bankrupted business.

"So, how's your plan going, Takeru?" Kiyane asked me.

"Actually, it's running rather well.”

"I didn't get it when you explained it the first time. Could you explain it once again, bro?"

"That wasn't the first time, Tsunaro. That was the FOURTH time" I said as my eyebrow twitched in annoyance.

"Ohhhh...Still, could you explain it again?" He asked, and I sighed.

Then I looked over my shoulder cautiously, making sure no one was overhearing or anything of the sort. "As you know, I cannot transform into a monster, like you guys can." I said.

"We know" Kiyane said, folding her arms.

"Go on already!"

I frowned, annoyed at their impatience. Clearly, they were being really ungrateful to my careful details. Well, serves me right for trying to explain as clearly as possible.

"Hmph. Because I can't feed from the human souls thanks to that, I am planning to create chaos in another way, not the way we've been educated. I will turn Heaven into a second Hell, and will unleash both of their powers over the Earth, condemning all souls to be ours to devour. Once I do this, there will be no sign of angels around to interfere, and I will finally become the dignified ruler of Hell, Earth, and Heaven. Everybody will suffer my eternal domain of chaos" I said, smiling darkly and wickedly.

"...All this because you can't devour human souls like we do?" Kiyane asked; I gave her a look.

"C'mon, Kiyane, don't blow it! It sounds so beautiful, and...(Sob) Destructive...!"

"It does sound very interesting. But...How are you going to turn Heaven into another Hell?"

"I TOLD YOU NOT TO BLOW IT! But, she's right, though. How ARE you gonna do that, bro? Not that I'm not trusting you, it just sounds a little--"

I chuckled. “I already thought that over...And you're not going to like the answer."

"I'm not liking it already..." Tsunaro whispered, scurrying behind Kiyane.

Kiane rolled her eyes at her younger brother’s stupidity. "How are you going to do that?"

I smiled as I looked at them. “My siblings. I will make an angel become infatuated with me."

They kept staring at me; I waited for the expected reaction.

"WHAT?!” They yelled together.

"Are you insane?! How can you even think that?!"

"How can you be willing to risk your life like that?! What would infatuating an angel do?!" Kiyane asked, glaring at me.

"Well, if I convince said angel to use its holy powers to please me, I will doubtlessly have access through the sacred portals that shall take me to Heaven itself. After I have used the angel enough, I will kill it, corrupting its home with its cursed blood" I explained.

“...Woow. That's elaborated."

"But of course it is, you idiot! What I'm planning to do is complex, I'm planning to destroy the world here!" I said.

"In deed it is. But...I guess you know what you are doing, since you created this plan and sound so darn sure about it" Kiyane said.

“And, say, bro. What will the angel's gender be?"

I sighed. “A woman, of course.”

"Oh, awesome! I'll be able to rape her!" Tsunaro said, excited.

We stared at him.

"What? We're going to torture her, aren't we? This is one good torture I have here! And we'll both enjoy it, bro."

I punched him down.

"I hope you know how hard angels are to locate. Unless they're in their true form, one cannot find them" Kiyane said.

"She's right, bro! They're freaking impossible to find" Tsunaro said, standing up in less than a second.

"...I know. However, it's not as hard if you know what to look for. When they are in their human disguise, no human can equal such purity, beauty, and innocence."

"Well, it really does look like you know how you're gonna do your thing" Kiyane said as we stopped in front of a building.

"Um, can you two explain me why we have to be in college?" Tsunaro asked.

"Do you forget everything you're told...? Because we need a convincing human profile to avoid investigation."

"But, it doesn't make any sense! We could kill anyone that tried to investigate us and leave no trace behind, why in the name of Hell do we have to be among the souls we eat? It's completely disgusting!”

"Because we want to save ourselves any complications. Besides, you two could use a little adjusting to the human world. To get to know it better" I said, walking forward with ease.

We entered the apartment where we lived together with our younger half-sister, Myralein.

Myralein Tatsukiya was daughter of my mother and a human. Sixteen years ago, Mother was going to devour a man's soul, but instead she decided to abandon the three of us and leave with him, having a child. After having Myralein, she left again with another man, leaving Kino Tatsukiya with his daughter.

Her father didn't want to have anything that reminded him of Mother, so he came to us and deliberately left his child with us. I ended up killing him because he pissed me off, dumping the child of the woman I begrudged on us like we were supposed to take care of her. For some weird reason, though, I didn’t hold any grudge against Myralein.

"I'll take a shower. You guys can cook something for me while I'm at it" I said, walking to the stairs.

What?" Tsunaro asked, sitting up right on the sofa.

"Hey, I delivered your food, now you deliver mine. You can order pizza and take the delivery boy as a dessert."

"Sweet!" Tsunaro said, already on the phone.

I sighed and opened the door of the bathroom, finding Myralein about to put her bra on. "...Oh, crap."

She gasped, blushed, and then yelled so loud and high (damn, my eardrums really suffered torture) it was heard through the entire house.

Next I was in my room; Tsunaro was sitting on the chair beside me, looking at the side of my face that had the red mark of a hand. "…What were you doing in the bathroom when she was in there anyway, bro?"

"Shut up.”

"My, my. I didn't know you were that kind of guy, big bro.”

"I told you to shut the hell up!"

"Takeru, you pervert!! How dare you go into the bathroom when I was there naked?!" Myralein hissed at me from outside the room.

"Oh, you shut up too! Like I knew you were there! Besides, you had everything on; you were only missing the bra!" I yelled, sitting up from the floor, glaring back at her.

She blushed, opened the door and threw a basket full of clothes at me. "By the way! There's your stupid laundry!"

"You fool! Why did you throw it at me like that?!"

"And why not?! You pervert!"

"I am NOT a pervert, you idiot!"

"That's how you thank me after I wash all your clothes!"

"Just so you know, I never asked you to wash them in the first place!"

"You know what? Screw you!" She said, running out of the room.

"Hey, where are you going?!" I yelled, glaring at her from the door jamb.

"What's it to you!"

I growled angrily, and then dropped myself on the floor again. Maybe now I begrudged her.

Tsunaro just stared at me. "Whoa...That was flaming."

"Oh, shut up, will you?!"

Myralein was always annoying.

After dinner, I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone anymore, so I just dropped on my bed and fell asleep. The day wasn't anything exciting, anyway. Most days were actually rather boring; especially the annoying fights with Myralein.

I dreamed of my plan. Of the angel I was going to use and then dispose of. I also dreamed of the dangers my plan would bring. But these did not matter. I WOULD reach my goal, whatever it took.

Prologue of Diary of a Monster

Eventually, this world changes. Humans are not the only ones that inhabit this world anymore. This ugly, yet beautiful world.

My name is Takeru Sakane, I'm a creation of the evil, dark world known as Hell, and this is my story.

Demons, devils, and other creatures from Hell got sick of waiting for human souls to arrive to Hell by themselves, so many of them hid under human disguises and left to the human world to lure more souls than they already had.

Why? Because creatures from Hell feed off those souls. However, we were running out, all because of our mortal enemies; the angels and other pure creatures from Heaven. They often saved many of the dead from our punishment.

It's been centuries since this change; about six or seven.

So now, every time either an angel or a devil is born, they are born under their human disguise; their human form. Both devils and angels develop their true form later on.

Thing is, I never got mine. It's been twenty-two years and I still don’t have my real, devil form. But oh well. That doesn't mean I can't kill.

There was a question I always asked myself; could we actually decide to ignore our natures and send the world into perpetual, chaotic darkness? Based on this, I created an elaborate plan.

I had always been aware that the human world existed only because ever since the beginning of time, devils and angels have been in our duties, fighting against each other, influencing the weak, human minds into our sides. Our existence has affected theirs. But our existence isn’t the only factor that has influenced the world so much. The fact that we fight the angels with the power of our darkness, and angels fight us with the power of their light also lingered among the human existence with a critical weight of importance.

I soon looked at the bright side of not having my devil form. Lacking this power enlightened me with the alterations that the human world required in order to give some advantages to our world. I thought hard of a way to get these said alterations into action, and became determined to make some critical changes.

What if...What if instead of using our darkness to battle the light directly, we used it to battle their forces discretely and turn their light into our darkness permanently? So that we could later unleash its power upon Earth.

I wouldn't defeat the angels and feed from the human souls, like I was supposed to. I couldn't, for I needed my demonic form to devour any soul.

I think I’m actually the devil with the closest connection to humans. Ever since I was born, I've had to feed from human food instead of human souls, and I’ve grown up surrounded by them on a daily basis, even more than my siblings.

You'd think that would affect me. But it didn't. It actually made me smarter than my kind, even smarter and stronger than my own family.

Again, I wouldn't defeat the angels or mess with human souls at all. I'd create a greater catastrophe.

The only way to defeat angels completely is by turning Heaven into a second Hell. And I could only do that if I managed to make an angel leave its duty, like I was determined to. I'd make an angel fall in love with me.

That was the only way I could sink the human world into a doom that they never imagined even in their most horrible nightmares. Now, for many millennia, we've been told that bonding with each other would immediately destroy us. However, it was the only chance I had.

I was prepared to die if I had to. But I would achieve my dreadful goal. I was compelled to.

As I said earlier, what comes next is my story. The story of my mission’s progress. The diary of a monster.
